Cement and brick production up in Ukraine in January-April

Ukrainian cement factories have increased their production output of cement by 22.5% year on year to 2.18 million tonnes in January-April 2011, according to the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine (Ukrstat). In April alone, cement production grew by 63.3% in comparison to March and by 8.2% in comparison to April 2010.

Brick production in Ukraine grew by 46.2% year on year in January-April 2011 to 196 million standard bricks. In April alone, brick production increased by 42.4% compared to March, and a 43.1% increase in comparison with April 2010. The production of ceramic tiles in Ukraine rose by 45.6% year on year in January-April 2011 to 19.1 million m².
