2009-08-16
Master-Profi-Ukraine, based in Dnipropetrovsk, has won a tender worth €68.6m for the construction of a glass roof over the
Olimpiysky National Sports Complex in Kyiv.
The company was chosen on the basis of its low pricing policy and the quality of its work, according to
Kyivgorstroy, the general contractor for the stadium’s reconstruction. However, the company will not carry out all of the work; the manufacture and mounting of the roof’s membrane cover and its cabling system will be carried out by foreign contractors. The mounting of the first metal construction for the roof will start in November 2009, and the work is due to be completed in May 2010.
The stadium, which will be the main sports complex in Ukraine for the Euro 2012 football championship, is to open in June 2011. Its reconstruction requires investment of €180m in total.
