Ukravtodor spends €140m in 2009 on preparation for Euro 2012

Ukravtodor has reported that it has spent more than €140m on road building in 2009 as part of the preparations for Euro 2012. The total cost of the programme which involves the preparation of Ukrainian roads for the tournament is €3.3bn.
This year the company is planning to complete and put into operation the following roads: the M-07 Kiev-Kovel-Yagodin road in the Zhytomir, Rivne and Volyn provinces; the M-02 Kiev-Gluhov-Bachevsk road in the Chernigov and Sumy provinces; the P-51 Kharkov-Pereshchepino-Novomoskovsk road in the Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk provinces and the M-05 Kiev-Odessa road in the Kiev and Odessa provinces.
At present one of the most extensive road construction projects in Ukraine is the repair of the Kiev-Chop highway (650.9 km), which is worth €249.2m.
The Euro 2012 programme includes the reconstruction of 5,000 km of Ukrainian roads.
