Sales of Ukrainian cement plants dropped by 8.6% in H1 2010

During the period of January-June 2010 Ukrainian cement plants experienced decrease in sales by 8.6% in comparison with the same period of 2009. Total sales of cement during the first six months of this year comprised 3.9 million tonnes. The domestic market consumed 3.79 million tonnes, which is by 8% less than in H1 2009. The largest domestic cement-consuming region is the northern part of Ukraine – 23.9%. Share of exported cement in H1 2010 accounted for 3.2% from the total sales. In H1 2010, cement production decreased by 6.6% on the annual basis - down to 3.95 million tonnes.
