DVK Company Will Build a Block of Apartment Buildings in Kiev's District Obolon

DVC get City approval to build a block of apartment buildings on Degtyarenko St. There will be built three buildings (two buildings will have underground parking lots), and power transmission facilities. All together 692,100 sqft of apartments will be build.
Storage facilities currently located on the property will be demolished. City plans to continue construction on the freed of storage facilities lot. Cleaning of Opechen Lake is a part of the district development project. So far the project will not affect the Obolon's industrial zone.

Yuschenko Is Going to Create Ministry of Construction

Victor Yuschenko, the President of Ukraine, is going to establish the Ministry of the construction, architecture and housing-communal services of Ukraine. It is said by the decree of the President dated the 15^th of April "On the resolution of the Council for National Security and Defense dated the 14^th of March, 2005 "On principles of reforming the system of central organs of the Executive Power".

In particular, Yuschenko charged the Cabinet with forming a proposal as regards the creation of the new Ministry within one month. Now the structure of the Executive Power consists of the State Committee for the construction and architecture that coordinates questions of the construction, municipal engineering and architecture, and State Committee for housing and communal services that coordinates management and maintenance of housing and communal services.

In March of the 2002 Leonid Kuchma, the President of that time, has divided the State Committee of the construction, architecture and housing policy into the State Committee for housing-communal services and the State Committee of the construction and architecture, in order to improve housing and communal services.

Demolishing of an Old Building

City of Kiev gave permission to demolish an old building in Podol historical area that was used as a campus. Demolishing is a part of preparations that shall be done for new office building construction. Contractor - Yaroslavov Val get also permission to remove part of existing sidewalks next to the construction area to build overhead structure over a temporary sidewalk.

China, Ukraine vow to enhance parliamentary exchange, cooperation

BEIJING, April 11 -- Chinese and Ukrainian parliament leaders said here Monday that they will enhance exchange and cooperation between the two parliaments, the National People's Congress of China and the Supreme Council of Ukraine, to contribute to the development of Sino-Ukrainian relations.

"The NPC will conduct more friendly multi-level, multi-channel exchanges with the Ukrainian Supreme Council to promote friendly ties between the two countries," Wu Bangguo, chairman of the NPC standing committee, told his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Litvinat the Great Hall of the People in downtown Beijing.
