BUILDTECH 2005 OCTOBER 11-14, KIEV, UKRAINE

Construction of the Hortitza Bridge in Zaporogie is On-hold.

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision to put construction of Hortitza Bridge o/r Dnepr in City of Zaporogie on hold. Construction of the bridge would be retrieved  after "Highway Over River Dnepr" Committee will publish its report. The biggest concern of the local government is construction budget and schedule.

Podolsky Bridge - Construction of Subway Tracks Starts in September.

Mayor of the City Mr. Omelchenko announced that subway tracks' construction will start in September. Engineering company Metrotunnelproject received an order for 6M UAH to start and run the project in parallel with bridge construction.

Podolsky Bridge - Next Stage of Construction

Podolsky Bridge o/r Dnepr (Kiev, Ukraine) Erection of the bridge's spans in Truhanov island area is finalized. On the next stage of construction it is planned to erect spans in Gorbachiha creak.

Lafarge Nikolaevcement - Cement Production Increases.

The fifth biggest in Ukraine cement plant Lafarge Nikolaevcemen increased cement production up to 117.7 thousand ton in July. This is 4.3% higher if compare to July 2004.

Ukrainian plants of Dyckerhoff Zement - Cement Production Increases.

Dyckerhoff Zement's Ukrainian cement plants Yugcement and Volyn increased cement production up to 841.2 thousand ton in July. This is 10.1% higher if compare to July 2004

Kiev - Construction of the Cardiology Center

Construction of the new Cardiology Center started in Kiev. Center will consist of three five-story buildings. Construction permit was issued by City Counsel. Most of the City Counsel architects like this project.

Pdolsky Bridge Steel Structures - Mostobud Advertised the Bid Solicitation

Mostobud advertised steel fabricator subcontractor bid solicitation. Contract includes fabrication of 4,000 ton of steel structures for construction of Podolsky Bridge over river Dnepr in Kiev, Ukraine. Structures supply scheduled from September 2005 to February 2006.

Kievgorstroy Shows 10.8% Increase in Five Month of 2005

Kievgorstroy's construction operations in January-May 2005 reached 795M UAH. This is 10.8% more if compare with the same period of time in 2004. The increase is result of intensive construction in Ukrainian Capital.

In 2004 Kievgorstroy reached 1,797M UAH and it built 713,549 sq.m. of apartment buildings.

Mostobud Plans 191% Increase in 2005.

The biggest Ukrainian bridge building company Mostobud plans to increase construction up to one billion UAH. It's 191% or 657M UAH more if compare with 2004. Vice President of the Company Mr. Gula says that Mostobud will invest 50M UAH in construction equipment renewal and 1M UAH in R&D.
It was also announced that Mostobud is planning take part in building construction. Bridge building company planning to start with a project including four buildings (10,500 sq.m total).
