Construction Company Obolon Planes Tower Cranes Production. |

contractor Obolon became a
tower crane manufacturer. President of the company Obolon Mr. Antonov
announced that the Company planes to build two cranes by the end of 2006.
Mr. Antonov mentioned that tower cranes are on high demand on the
Ukrainian construction market. |

City Council Building Reconstruction Starts. |

Planeta - Bud won the bid solicited earlier this year. Reconstruction of the Kiev's City Council Building is started. Reconstruction includes renovation works from the first to the fifth floor. Main part of the project is the renovation of the City Hall to increase number of sits. Planeta - Bud scheduled to finalize the project by the end of January 2007. |

Cottage Village in Vishgorod. |

As Mr. Merenkov - the project manager - said, Construction Company Green House (Kiev) will build the cottage village Tchervona Kalina (next to the village of Novoselky, Country of Vishgorod) in July 2007. The lot of 6.5 hectares is located in the forest on the riverbank. The distance to the Kiev is only 14 km! The village will be of 65 log houses. The houses are manufactured by well known log building manufacturer KONTIO (Finland). The are a of a single house is 110-156 sq.m. The houses are designed to endure 100-120 years in the Ukrainian climate. Green

Moscow Square - Water Supply Line is Damaged. |

Last Sunday night on Moscow Square sunk down a chunk of asphalt paved area in front of the entrance to Dimeevsky market. The hole was filled up with water. Depression was so big that aggressive driver of Volkswagen that manage to drive into the pot get his car completely submerged. The water supply line was badly damaged. It took about a week to fix it. Central Bus station was left without water. Administration of the station had to supply water by cistern trucks to keep station toilets functioning. The depressed area located right above the construction of subway line. Kievmetrostroy shut down construction of the line because of financial problems. As per techniques used in wet week soils it's necessary to keep soil around the tunnel frozen during construction. If the temperature wasn't kept at the right level during the shut down melted soils could be a cause of the accident. The
square reconstruction works that includes construction of the 450m long
bridge were terminated in April
2006. The bridge construction was rescheduled to accommodate problems
related to the subway construction. |
