In Vinnytsia Building Company Vinnytsia-Bud is Planning to Build Cottage District "Edem".

Mr. Gigienishvily - the president of the company announced plan of the Company to build 22 two-story townhouse/ cottage type buildings 300sq.m. each on the lot of 1 hectare. Total project cost was estimated as 20M UAH.

659 Accidents Occurred on Construction Sites in Kiev.

In 9 month of 2006 659 accidents occurred on construction sites of Kiev. 31 of them are fatalities (there were 43 fatalities in the same period of time in 2005). Government agency continuously audits construction sites enforcing requirements of "Labor Safety in Construction" Act. 227 employers like Kievgorstroy, Ligobud, Interbudinvest, Shid, PMK-2000 were found responsible for violation of Labor Safety Law. 24 criminal charges were laid.

Russian Ambassador Visits Zoloti Kliuchy District.

Russian ambassador in Ukraine Mr. Chernomirdin visited the biggest in Ukraine low raise housing project Zoloti Kliuchy near Dnepropetrovsk. Mr Chernomirdin said that hosing has great future in Russia and Ukraine. He called for cooperation with Russian manufacturers of lumber and basic wood.

IKEA Meets with Prime Minister to Discus Construction of New IKEA Facilities in Ukraine.

Prime minister Victor Yanukovich discussed with IKEA's management (Steven Holm and Lennard Dalgren) construction of new IKEA facilities in Ukraine. IKEA plans to invest $2B in construction of two IKEA centers in Kiev.

Approval Sought for Shopping Center on Balzac Street.

XXI Century filed with the city of Kiev for design approval to build 4,680 sq.m shopping center. The plan revised after the company agreed to build playground and sport facilities in the area. It will be 3 level shopping center with parking and food court. Estimated project cost is $4.6M.

Nine Billion Hrivnas for Highways Maintenance in 2007.

Minister of Communication and transportation Mr. Kornienko announced that 9B UAH will be spend on highways and roads maintenance and repair in 2007. Major highways that will be repaired in 2007 are Kiev -Chop, Kharkov - Kiev, Kiev - Kovel.

The 4th International Construction Equipment Show BUILDTECH'2006 Takes Place in Kiev.

The 4th International construction equipment trade show BUILDTECH'2006 took place in Kiev, October 3-6. At the show were presented equipment of Terex, Volvo, New Holland, Komatsu, JCB, Hyundai, Hitachi, Extec, Daewoo, Caterpillar, Bobcat, Bomag, Schwing, Salerno Ponteggi, Hydro Mobile. AVDOV™ took part in the show. Its web publication CMO-Construction Machinery Overview had a booth in the hall #3.
