Russia-Ukraine Consortium Begins Natural Gas Pipeline Construction. |

The construction of the initial 50-kilometre stretch of Bogorodchany-Uzhgorod gas pipelines begins in Ukraine on Wednesday. The pipeline project is the first investment phase of a consortium that has been set up under an inter-governmental agreement on cooperation. The pipeline will be a part of future mains that will link Russia's Novopskov with Uzhgorod, increasing Ukraine's gas transportation to West Europe. Naftogaz Ukrainy and Russia's gas company Gazprom will finance the construction in equal share. |
