The New Kiev's Mayor Leonid Chernovetskiy Guaranteed Support of the New Railway Bridge Construction. |

The new Kiev's mayor Mr Chernovetskiy met with HQ of the State Railway Company Ukrzaliznytsya. Meeting's agenda was to clarify City's position as related to the construction of the new railway bridge o/r Dnepr On this meeting Mr. Chernovetskiy declared that the City is going to support the bridge construction. The first problem, that City promised to help with, is the 35 hectares of property that is needed for the bridge construction continuation. The losses suffered by Ukrzaliznytsya related to a year of the project termination were set aside. Nevertheless cost of the project has risen from 4.8B UAH to 7B UAH (as was reported by AVdov in March). Mr Gladih CEO of Ukrzaliznytsya announced that if the key problems would be solved, railway traffic could be open in 2007. Also Mr Gladih mentioned promised support of Cabinet of Ministers for this government owned project.
