was so big that aggressive driver of Volkswagen that manage to drive into the pot get his car completely submerged. The water supply line was badly damaged. It took about a week to fix it. Central Bus station was left without water. Administration of the station had to supply water by cistern trucks to keep station toilets functioning.
The depressed area located right above the construction of
subway
line. Kievmetrostroy shut down construction of the line because of financial problems. As per techniques used in wet week soils it's necessary to keep soil around the tunnel frozen during construction. If the temperature wasn't kept at the right level during the shut down melted soils could be a cause of the accident.
The square reconstruction works that includes construction of the 450m long bridge were terminated in
April
2006. The bridge construction was rescheduled to accommodate problems related to the subway construction.
